Emirates NBD achieves unprecedented growth in H1 2026, bolstered by strategic acquisitions and strong financial performance.

Emirates NBD PJSC, a leading banking group in the United Arab Emirates, has announced a record-breaking financial performance for the first half of 2026. The bank reported a pre-tax profit of AED 16.2 billion, marking a 5% year-on-year increase. This robust growth is attributed to a 13% rise in net interest income and an impressive 25% surge in non-funded income.

The bank's balance sheet has expanded significantly, surpassing AED 1.3 trillion. This growth is largely driven by a 17% increase in gross loans, amounting to AED 771 billion, and a 13% rise in deposits, reaching AED 892 billion. The recent acquisition of RBL Bank has added AED 74 billion in total assets, AED 44 billion in gross loans, and AED 43 billion in deposits, further solidifying Emirates NBD's regional footprint.

Despite the challenging economic environment, Emirates NBD has managed to maintain strong asset quality with a cost of risk at 42 basis points. The bank's capital and liquidity ratios remain robust, providing a solid foundation for future growth.

The acquisition of RBL Bank is a strategic move that aligns with Emirates NBD's long-term growth strategy. It not only strengthens the bank's regional presence but also enhances its diversified business model, positioning it well for sustained growth momentum.

With a total income up by 16% year-on-year to AED 27.9 billion, driven by strong balance sheet growth and diversified non-funded income, Emirates NBD continues to demonstrate disciplined cost management. Operating profit before impairment has risen by 17% year-on-year to AED 19.5 billion.

Given the bank's strong financial performance, strategic acquisitions, and solid growth potential, investors might consider this an opportune time to buy Emirates NBD shares. The bank's ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic market environment further supports this recommendation.
